DOST Regional Director visits BU's Food Innovation Center

The Department of Science and Technology Region V (DOST-V), headed by its Regional Director Rommel R. Serrano visited the Bicol Regional Food Innovation and Commercialization Center (BRFICC) in Bicol University (BU), East Campus, Legazpi City on 07 July 2022.

The center was launched in 2017 under DOST's High Impact Technology and Services (HITS) project as part of the "Roll-Out of the DOST-designed Food Processing Equipment to the Regions" which aims to provide the local food sector with an effective and modern food processing technology to improve product quality and production rate.

From conceptualization up to market testing, the facility serves as an incubator for the development and testing of new food products employing the most recent technologies.
