DOST-V through the Provinical S&T Office of Camarines Sur conducted the MOA Signing with LGU Pasacao and Turnover of PORTASOL Technology | 16 May 2023

DOST-V through the Provincial S&T Office of Camarines Sur conducted the MOA Signing with LGU Pasacao and Turnover of PORTASOL Technology to four (4) community-based organizations in the Municipality of Pasacao. This is part of the support of DOST V under the Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) Program which the LGU is enrolled in.

They were able to receive one (1) unit of PORTASOL Technology each to be used for faster drying of their crops and other commodities like fish. The organizations, as endorsed by the Local Government Unit of Pasacao are: Tinalmud Farmers Association, Quitang Farmers Association, Samahan ng Maliliit ng Mangigisda ng San Cirilo and Bidlayo, Compra, Caguibang Tinalmud Fisherfolks Association.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Anthea Jill Felices, PTA II and Ms. Regine Yabillo, PTA I, representing Ms. Patrocinio N. Felizmenio, PSTD of CamSur, Ms. Gina Belle Bengua, OIC Municipal Administrator, representative of Hon. Jorge R. Bengua and Mr. Hilario Rosero, MAO for LGU Pasacao, Ms. Marissa P. Aye, Mr. Domingo SB. Cordial, Mr. Rafael C. Race and Ms. Jessebel D. Bihag, respective presidents of the organizations.

The PORTASOL Multi-purpose Thermal Drying Trays, a Filipino invention, is a simple and economical yet very effective technology that reduce post-harvest (drying) losses and increase the quality of products.
